Description:

Painting portraits can be a challenging but rewarding experience. It takes practice but with time and focus, you can develop confidence. In this class we will study the human face, through a series of preliminary drawing exercises as we will sketch out our compositions & poses, 3/4 views and non-traditional angles and midpoints before moving on to painting a more realized facial portrait on canvas. This is a great class for observational skills as you create drawings from personal subject matter: photos and pictures of loved ones or faces of people you admire who capture your imagination. Learn how to create highlights and shadows and how to add tonal changes and employ a mood . At the end of the session your instructor will offer valuable critique to help inspire further artistic endeavors. Return students are very welcome in this class.

Select a single day as a Trial Class. Please keep in mind if you are signing up for a single class, it is not possible to learn this skill in one two-hour sitting, or complete a painting so please manage your expectations.

Once we receive your booking you will receive a LINK TO JOIN your class. We suggest preparing for class 5-10 minutes early to ensure you're able to set up your device properly & check your connection.

All classes start & end as advertised.

We will lock all meetings 15 minutes after start time, if you have not joined by that time, you will not be able to enter the class and will not be eligible to reschedule your class. We are sorry but we have to be strict about this. Because of the nature of online teaching, late students totally disrupt the whole class flow & experience for others.

If you're signing up for one single class, please note this will ONLY serve as an introductory class to the media, for those more serious about their art we recommend signing up for a full class course.
