Beginner Drawing + Illustration Techniques for Adults

For Adult Students 18 yrs +

Drawing is the most valuable skill in all the visual arts and is needed for all artistic disciplines. This course is perfect for adult students looking for a strong foundation, it’s a great skill for anyone working in film, graphic design, fashion industry or those who work digitally. Hone your skill set and grow confidence with your sketches. Learn how to create dynamic compositions as you study classical drawing techniques for achieving accurate proportion & linear perspective, and develop an eye for line, form & tone in still-life arrangements using a combination of pencil, charcoal, or inks. Learn how to draw curves, use contour technique & straight line approximation technique as well as the essentials of drawing ellipses, a cylinder, and hemispheres. Learn how to employ horizontal lines & vanishing points to give your drawings a sense of volume and accuracy. How to use the midpoint establishment to ensure the two major halves or your drawings are accurate. These practical exercises help beginners learn how to see shape and form. This class is an excellent introduction to drawing for beginners. We recommend a full class course syllabus to see real progress. Returning students will be accommodated.

Drawing Supplies

  • All Drawing supplies are included in your course fee: Paper, Pencils, Charcoal, Pastels, inks. We recommend bringing a sketchbook of your own so you can track progress and write notes and practice exercises at home.

  • Canvas is NOT required or supplied, however, if you prefer to draw on a canvas (optional) please bring it with you to class.

Rescheduling Requests

  • Creatively Wild has made it easier for you to reschedule a class. To reschedule a class you will need to purchase a RESCHEDULE TICKET | Fee of $ 25 per single class pp.

  • Rescheduling tickets must be purchased 24 hours prior to your class. You cannot cancel or reschedule classes that have already taken place. If you do not show up to a class you will not be entitled to any rescheduling, credit, or refunds.
