Robert is a tremendous voice coach. Each lesson is well-organized and informative, plus the lessons are a lot of fun. I’ve seen great progress in my singing ability in just a short amount of time. I’ve had voice lessons with five or so other coaches and Robert is far and away the best voice coach I’ve ever had. I look forward to many more lessons together.

I’ve taken weekly 1:1 singing lessons with Robert since the middle of 2019, but with a 6 month gap due to COVID. Recently I decided to resume lessons over video calls, despite lacking appropriate equipment and room conditions in my apartment. I’m happy with my progress so far.

For context, I had basically zero musical training before this, apart from mandatory grade school classes and lots of karaoke with friends.

From my perspective, Robert is skilled in singing and is also able to explain concepts to a beginner in ways that they can understand. He is friendly, humble, and caring. I genuinely enjoyed the hours I spent with Robert, even just as a fellow human being!

I’ve been taking voice lessons with Robert on a weekly basis for over a year. I highly recommend him to students of any level. Robert is charismatic, and empathetic, and fun to work with. He is knowledgeable in all facets of music. We’ve covered a range of topics: from breath control, to ear training, to music production. I continue to learn something new every lesson.

I’ve tried many voice coaches and many of them teach in contradictory ways or follow a model or set of teachings that have been passed down by generations of coaches. I appreciated Roberts focus on the scientific affirmation behind why he recommends doing things the way he does (and of course he’s got amazing vocal talent as well).

I am extremely indebted to Robert’s coaching sessions. As someone with no formal vocal background, I was able to learn and grasp onto simple concepts with each lesson. Robert is so experimental with his tactics, and he breaks down each new concept in a fun way that’s also easy to understand. I’m about 3-4 months in and not only do I feel 100x more comfortable with my voice, I’ve also learned how to really keep my vocal chords in check– whereas before I strained myself too often. Whether you’re a beginner or advanced vocalist, I highly recommend taking classes with Robert!

Robert is an amazing coach! He combines modern and traditional techniques for a jam packed lesson and I always leave a session a more empowered singer. Highly recommend!!

Let me go on record and say that I was once terrified of singing lessons.

Sure, I really love singing at group singing shenanigans like karaoke or within the safe confines of my shower, but the idea of someone dissecting what you sound like–such a core part of who you are–sent shivers up and down my spine.

That is until I had my first lesson with Robert.

Robert is an amazing singer, talented musician, and, as a director of a prestigious a capella group, Robert clearly is an expert in his field. Yet despite his superior vocal capabilities, I have never detected an ounce of judgment or condescension. Quite the opposite: Robert genuinely cares about helping me improve and guides me along akin to a loving parent. He walks you through warmups and guides you through songs at a comfortable and challenging pace. At the conclusion of each session, I always walk away feeling improved and knowing that the teacher shares in the accompanying joy.

A lesson with Robert is one of the highlights of my week I look forward to.

Robert is an excellent voice coach – knowledgeable, enthusiastic, fun and supportive. He’s clearly passionate about what he does and is skilled at helping singers of all levels improve their craft. I love working with Robert and have learned a lot from my short time working with him. Highly recommend Robert to anyone and think that people at all levels would benefit a lot from his unique and thorough teaching style!
