I throughly enjoyed my time with Mukti and learned SO much about things I thought I already knew. I've had an Indian cooking class at the ICE in manhattan but it was taught by an Indian Guyanese, which makes a difference. Being Guyanese myself, I know how our cooking styles and ingredients are different and Mukti is the real deal. She explains all of the spices, the science behind techniques (I'm also a scientist and was unaware of some of the methods she used which I thought was super fascinating) and importance of using fresh, whole ingredients. She's very attentive, and explains everything step by step. Everyone helps prepare the dishes and you taste as you cook. You experience the aromas and how the parched spices are meant to smell like prior to using them. I've used the same spices in my Indian cooking and there's a distinct difference between how my food tastes and how Mukti's tastes. I'm never going back to my old methods. Her techniques are key for Indian cuisine and if you want to learn authentic Indian food, you need to take this class. She also helped me regain my confidence in making aloo roti after so many failed attempts on my own. Everything was delicious. We had a group of 6 doing the class which I thought was perfect and the class was roughly 3.5 hours if you include eating. It's a great class and I'd happily do it all again!

I had a wonderful time with my 25 year old son the other night at Mukti's Kitchen. She's a lovely lady and her food is beyond incredible! There were a bunch of flavorful dishes and each of us got to participate in the cooking which was fun. Mukti taught us so much about how to make the most of Indian cooking and because of that, I feel hooked! I can't wait to get all the ingredients and get started. I highly recommend this class for people who want to learn how to make authentic delicious Indian food.

Mukti's class is the real deal! It has brought me so much joy this past week cooking with and for my family and friends, and I think all of the recipes will be weekly staples (at least until I can take another class!) I'm so grateful to know I can prepare healthy organic and incredible tasting Indian meals at home with time and patience. I learned so much in the kitchen and was happy I could take a "treasure chest" of spices home for a very reasonable additional cost. I agree with others here: not only was the teaching an incredible value, the meal we shared at the end of class was the best Indian meal I've ever eaten! It was a hands on learning experience I won't ever forget. Thank you, Mukti!

Mukti's vegetarian Indian cooking class was so much fun. She thoroughly educated us on how to find and use the best spices and had lots of practical tips that are helpful beyond cooking Indian dishes. (I'd have never guessed how easy it is to make any pan a non-stick pan!) The dishes we made were absolutely delicious. The only downside to taking her class is that it'll ruin going to Indian restaurants afterwards once you know how flavorful authentic Indian dishes should taste! Thank you, Mukti!

Mukti was an incredible host who welcomed my boyfriend, myself, and another couple into her home for an amazing three hour experience. She greeted us, told us about her history and how she became a cooking instructor, and then brought us into the kitchen to begin the experience. We booked the vegan and gluten free class, and learned how to make pakora, coriander chutney, aloo gobi matar rasha, chana masala, vegetable pulao, and eggplant masala. Mukti was patient, met us at our level, gave us clear and direct instructions, and recipes to take home with us! We could not have asked for a better evening.

Our cooking class was a hoot. We cooked Coastal Shrimp, Chicken Tikka, Lamb Kabobs, dahl, and more. We learned techniques, how to use whole spices, and especially for me, I learned that I was doing more work than necessary. For example, I can use all of the cilantro without having to cut the stems. The class was packed with new information, but it was too much fun to feel overwhelming. And I had no idea you can grind dahl and use it instead of a grain filler. Mukti is a delightful person, who made us all feel comfortable in her kitchen. She is clearly having a good time teaching these classes.

Mukti's cooking class was a wonderful experience and worth every penny! I was looking for a fun and memorable way to surprise my friend (who LOVES Indian food, and food in general) for her birthday and she and her husband and I had an amazing afternoon, learning far more than we anticipated. The skills Mukti teaches are not only relevant to the recipes she is teaching but will influence how you cook everything for the rest of your life. I was so impressed, she was so kind and welcoming and patient, and we had a bonding experience that we will keep in our hearts forever. I can also honestly say, Mukti has ruined any chance that I will ever crave store-bought frozen Indian again. The meal we made and shared at the end of class was one of the best I've ever eaten - the spices! I can't wait to share my new cooking skills with my friends and family. Thank you, Mukti!

Chef Mukti was absolutely fabulous. A charming person and an exceptional cook. Her instructions and demonstrations were clear and very interesting. I learned a lot about the techniques of cooking Indian food. Lots of information and great cooking tips. We all got to both cook and watch (and, of course, eat the exceptionally delicious food we had prepared). We learned how to make about seven different dishes, including 3 vegetable dishes, chicken, bread, mango lassi...as well as masala, which is the basis for almost all of the dishes. Chef Mukti told us where to buy and how to choose the best ingredients, and provided recipes for everything. It was exactly the learning experience I had hoped for...and above all, it was really fun! Kudos and thanks to Chef Mukti!!!

Mukti's class was amazing. She invites you into her home and you are treated as family as you learn multiple authentic Indian recipes. It is great hands-on learning and it was a great lesson in not only specific Indian recipes, but lessons in essential cooking tips as well. I highly recommend this class to anyone who is looking to expand their culinary knowledge!
